Following graduation from university, Brad worked in Cadillac Fairview's shopping centre division and in 1977, embarked on a remarkable journey in the real estate management sector. He emerged as a founding principal of one of Ontario's largest and most successful real estate management companies. Throughout his career, Brad has amassed a wealth of property management experience, from regional shopping malls to managing expansive portfolios encompassing resident, commercial, retail, office, condominium and subsidized assets with Highmark Properties. Brad not only possesses extensive experience but also embodies a personal business philosophy centered on providing consistently sound advice and implementing effective strategies for his clients. This approach has been instrumental in establishing enduring relationships built on trust and reliability.
Maintaining his commitment to excellence, Brad remained the sole owner of Briarlane Rental Property Management Inc. until September 1, 2008, when he welcomed Briarlane's Vice Presidents as shareholders. This strategic decision reflects Brad's dedication to fostering growth and continuity within his organization while upholding the standards of excellence that have defined his career trajectory.
In addition to his illustrious career in real estate management, Brad finds solace and relaxation in travelling to his second home in Mexico. Amidst the vibrant culture and picturesque landscapes, he embraces the opportunity to unwind and rejuvenate. A passionate golfer, Brad also indulges in his love for the sport, taking to the lush fairways and challenging greens whenever time permits.

Andrus Kung is a seasoned professional in the field of property management, boasting an impressive academic background and over three decades of hands-on experience. An honours graduate from the University of Western Ontario, Andrus also holds a CPM® designation (Certified Property Manager). Throughout his career, Andrus’ blend of formal training and practical expertise has been pivotal in the development and execution of management and maintenance protocols across a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties. Andrus has spearheaded the creation and implementation of comprehensive capital work plans, ensuring that properties are equipped to meet future demands and challenges effectively. With more than two decades at Briarlane and ten years with Glen Corporation, Andrus’ has consistently demonstrated leadership skills and adeptness in navigating complex dynamics and has established himself as a trusted and respected figure in the property management industry. Beyond the professional realm, you’ll find Andrus casting a line in pursuit of the perfect catch or lacing up skates for a spirited games of hockey.
Monish Comar, BA, CPA, CGA

Monish Comar, BA, CPA, CGA serves as the Vice-President Finance at Briarlane, where he is also a partner. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Monish brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. A Certified Professional Accountant and graduate from the University of Toronto, Monish has dedicated his career to accounting and financial management in the residential, commercial and retail property management sectors. Monish is passionate about photography and loves to travel, exploring new destinations not only providing him with inspiration but allowing him to capture the beauty of diverse landscapes. His commitment to excellence extends beyond the boardroom, as he find joy in capturing moments and memories while traversing the globe.
Susanne Maguire

Like her company, Susanne Maguire has more than twenty-five years experience in the property management industry. During her tenure with Briarlane, Susanne has gained extensive experience in the management of numerous multi-unit residential rental buildings and condominium properties within the Greater Toronto area. Not only has Susanne gained invaluable experience in the physical and mechanical operation of Briarlane buildings, she is also instrumental in the development of many of the company's administrative policies and procedures as well as property management systems currently in use at Briarlane. Susanne is also an active member of the Greater Toronto Apartment Association Utilities, Environment and Communications Committee.

Ryan Mercer

Ryan is a knowledgeable professional with over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry, including 20 years at Briarlane Rental Property Management Inc.. A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University with a BTech, Ryan has developed a robust expertise in managing and growing mixed commercial portfolios.
In his role, Ryan oversees the operations and leasing of our diverse commercial portfolio, ensuring the day to day requirements and long term needs for each asset are met. He is a skilled lease negotiator, consistently achieving over 100 lease renewals and new leases each year. His "win-win" approach to negotiations focuses on balancing the interests of property owners and tenant partners, fostering positive relationships and long-term success for all parties involved.

Mariana Talvan

Mariana Talvan arrived in Canada with a foundation in computer science, ready to embrace a new life and career. Successfully transitioning into the property management industry, she is certified in the Property Management Program, reflecting her commitment to maintaining high standards in her field. Over her 20 years with Briarlane, Mariana has managed a diverse range of properties, showcasing her expertise in optimizing operations, enhancing resident satisfaction, and driving team performance. Dedicated to delivering exceptional service, she ensures that both property owners and tenants have positive experiences. Outside of her professional achievements, Mariana enjoys home decorating and floral design, finding joy in creating beautiful spaces. Her passion for aesthetics enriches her personal life and influences her work in property management, where she believes a welcoming environment is key to resident happiness.
Bill MacGillivray, CPM©

Bill MacGillivray CPM© serves as the Regional Manager for the London Office. With over three decades in the property management industry Bill has been involved in the management of numerous commercial and residential properties across Canada. Bill has worked with some of the largest developers in London and has been involved in the opening of new buildings and coordinated many large capital improvement projects. He started his career in 1991 with Highmark Properties in London.
A graduate of Fanshawe College, Bill also holds a CPM (Certified Property Manager) designation.
Bill has been on the on the Board of the London Property Management Association (LPMA) for over 25 years. He is a former President of the association and currently is the Chair of the Finance Committee. A passionate hockey fan Bill can often be found at the game supporting the London Knights. He served many years on the Board of the Oakridge minor hockey association including serving as President.
Erinda Shehu

Erinda brings over a decade of expertise in property management to her role as Regional Manager. She holds a university degree in Civil Engineering and completed her studies in Property Management at Humber College.
Throughout her career, Erinda has successfully managed high-end residential buildings with several prominent property management companies. She joined Briarlane Rental Property Management Inc., in 2021 and is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring resident satisfaction. Her strong ownership mindset drives her commitment to excellence and fosters strong relationships with clients.
Erinda is passionate about building and developing high-performance teams, consistently achieving outstanding results across her portfolio.
In her personal time, she enjoys playing pickleball and practicing yoga and Pilates, balancing her professional dedication with active and healthy pursuits.
Sue Franey Liberto, BComm, CPA
Controller

Sue is an accomplished financial professional with over 30 years of experience in accounting, currently serving as Controller.
Sue has leveraged her extensive technical knowledge and industry experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance to enhance our client’s financial performance. She previously held positions with Highmark Properties and the accounting firm KPMG. She is a graduate of Saint Mary’s University.
Beyond her technical skills, Sue is a leader and mentor to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. She believes in the importance of collaboration and open communication.
Her commitment to excellence and integrity in accounting makes her a respected leader at Briarlane and in the wider financial community.
Susan Peralta
Accounting Manager

Susan is to celebrate her silver anniversary with Briarlane next year and has risen from the ranks from Accountant to Accounting Manager.
I worked with DM Property Management in New York for 5 years prior to my coming to Canada and with Best Realty Management in Toronto for 8 years before working with Briarlane. On further recollection though, I think I started working with property management when I was still in high school collecting apartment rents for my parents
I earned my University degree in Economics and almost finished my Masters in the Philippines until marriage took priority. I first worked for a Bank for 8 years after university and left that company as Head of Corporate Planning and Research Department. I did monthly corporate financial analyses, annual reports, budgets, feasibility studies and industry comparative analyses. This for sure sharpened my skills and talents in what my responsibilities are now at Briarlane Accounting Department.
I have always told my officemates and others that with the onset of my "sunset" years, I opt to continue to work here as I do like my job and the responsibilities, as well as the challenges, it entails. When I first started with Briarlane, I was and still am impressed with Brad Smith, the owner and then-President as he was very generous, humble, kind and down-to-earth. Needless to say, smart and hardworking as well. I can honestly say that the senior officers of Briarlane are dedicated and work hard to maintain the company's integrity. And these traits do reflect on me as well.
